Pocketable Saxel and medal of Saxony House in Vancouver

Name giver for the elk, which was born in the Seiffen wooden ring turning workshop of Christian Werner, is Anja Hähnel from Bautzen. She was the winner of the naming competition, held by the Morgenpost, MDR 1 Radio Sachsen and the TMGS. Altogether, 1000 suggestions for names had been made. The first prize is a second edition of the elk, measuring 50 by 60 centimetres, with a Canada-jumper, Saxony-scarf and sunglasses.

300 small copies of the mascot Saxel will be sold in Saxony House for 15 C$ or given to Olympic competitors and high-ranking guests. 700 small Saxony elks can also be purchased for 10 EUR each directly in the Seiffen wooden ring turning workshop of Christian Werner. Additionally, a medal is intended to remind of the stay at the "Saxon Olympic Representation".
