VIP Lounge in Saxony House well visited

Vancouver/Dresden, February 19, 2010 – In the VIP Lounge in Saxony House the prominent guests come and go in a continuous stream. Today, Gunda Niemann Stirnemann, multi Olympia winner in speed skating, Sylke Otto, luge Olympic champion of 2006, Martina Kocher, luge athlete from Switzerland and cross country athlete Thomas Reichelt were welcomed in Vancouver. Additionally, the moderator of the ZDF "Sportstudio", Wolf Dieter Poschmann, paid a visit to the Saxons.

There was also a meeting with the parents of Tatjana Hüfner. The gold-winning luge athlete of the Olympic Winter Games 2010 has announced her visit to Saxony House for today, Friday, just as Anke Wischnewski. Katharina Witt wants to visit Saxony House on Saturday and greet the German as well as the international Olympia fans.

And tonight the Vancouver Rowing Club at the Stanley Park is the chosen location for the signing of the contract for a so far worldwide unique cooperation between the State Art Collections Dresden with their Ethnographic Collections and the U’mista Cultural Centre in Alert Bay. Saxony's Prime Minister, Stanislaw Tillich, Prof. Martin Roth, general director of the State Art Collections Dresden and Bill Cranmer, Chief of the ‘Namgis First Nation`, one of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nations from Canada, will be present.
